Toccobird Drawing Markup updates — 1.1 preview
See the released 1.0 features and the upcoming 1.1 preview: Wi-Fi upload, drawing groups, hide and lock controls, PDF annotation layers and seven app languages.
Updated October 6, 2026Version 1.0 is available on the App Store. The 1.1 features below are implemented locally and documented as of October 6, 2026, but are not yet released. No release date has been announced.
Available now — version 1.0
Released on October 2, 2026 for iPhone and iPad with iOS or iPadOS 18 or later. The current store version supports English and Simplified Chinese.
Mark up PDFs and images, snap to usable vector lines, work with Apple Pencil, measure in metric or imperial units, attach photos and share reports. Exchange complete .tdm packages as independent editable copies. Claim a free seven-day trial, then choose a one-time Full Unlock if needed; the App Store shows your local price.
1.1 preview — import, organize and hand over
Three tabs bring Import, Workspace and Export / Backup together. With saved drawings, the app opens the workspace; an empty library starts at import. Trash remains available from the workspace menu.
Create or rename drawing groups, move drawings between groups, and choose a destination before importing. View all drawings, ungrouped drawings or one group; export a group package or back up the full library. The app no longer provides drawing-version management.
1.1 preview — upload over your local network
Open Import → Start Web Upload, then visit the displayed http://IP:port address in a browser on the same trusted network. Send PDF, JPEG, PNG and .tdm files, up to 200 MB per file, into the selected drawing group.
Keep the receiving popup open and the app in the foreground. Closing it or moving the app to the background stops reception. Imported files stay in the library. This is a local transfer to your device, not an upload to this marketing website or a cloud drawing service.
1.1 preview — hide and lock individual markups
Two switches in the annotation list control visibility and locking. Hiding removes a mark from the canvas, selection and eraser targets, while keeping its record, notes and photos in the list. Hidden annotations still take part in exports within the selected range.
Locking preserves visibility and viewing but blocks changes to position, endpoints, style, notes, status, measurements and photos, as well as deletion. Unlock explicitly before editing or changing visibility. Saving, reopening and .tdm exchange retain both settings.
1.1 preview — Visible and Hidden PDF layers
Editable PDFs preserve two native optional-content layers and each annotation’s membership. The measurement line and its text stay together. Both layers are visible when the exported PDF opens; readers that support PDF layers can toggle them.
Flattened PDFs, PNG images, report text and CSV include in-scope hidden annotations without switchable layers. Hiding is not a way to redact data. Use .tdm to retain locking, complete measurement data and photo relationships; PDF reader support varies.
1.1 preview — find notes and photo captions
Search annotation notes and photo captions alongside the existing PDF text layer, then return to the related drawing location. Scale recognition remains on-device; it does not turn every scanned sheet into a searchable text PDF.
1.1 preview — seven app languages
English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, French, German, Korean and Japanese cover the interface, receiving page, purchase prompts, errors and newly generated reports and CSV. Follow the system language or choose the app language in iOS Settings.
Your drawing text, notes, authors and photo captions stay in their original language. The currently released 1.0 still offers English and Simplified Chinese. This website also remains available in those two languages, with English as the default.
Later plans — 1.2 and 1.3
Version 1.2 is planned to add custom annotation layers: create and delete layers, choose the current layer, and control layer visibility and locking. The 1.1 preview has only the two built-in Visible and Hidden layers.
Version 1.3 is planned to introduce native DWG support as a separate paid option. Its exact scope, price, purchase relationship and release date are not confirmed. Current PDF markup does not include native DWG editing.
